Literacy Readiness Skills

In this lesson, I taught them phones about double ee. I used shared reading approach. They liked it. I used some concept of print to make the lesson more interested such as, I hold the book upside down and the students came and turned the book for me. they were happy. they liked the activities so much and wanted to use them again. in the end, I used smart board to play game about double ee. they really liked the lesson so much and asked me to do it next time.

Materials

The First activity for high level, It was hidden words game. They played it as group. They liked it and it was useful game and helped my lesson to meet the outcome. The students read the words many time that help then to recognize double ee.

The second activity for second high level, it was letter slider game. They used the letters plate slider, the slider has different letters by moving the slider they could read different word such as (bee, see, three, tree, free, fee, knee, peeping) they liked it and it helped to meet the outcome and recognize double ee.

The third activity for second middle level, it was letters guitar slider. They used the letters plate slider, the slider has different letters by moving the slider they could read different word such as (bee, see, three, tree, free, fee, knee, peeping) they liked it and it helped to meet the outcome and recognize double ee.

The fourth activity for low level, it was ee vowel wheel game. They used the ee vowel wheel (bee, see, three, tree, free, fee, knee, sweet). They turned the stick and waited until it stopped then they read the word and wrote it on the paper. They did it many time. They liked it and it was useful game and helped my lesson to meet the outcome. The students read the words many time that help then to recognize double ee.

My reflection

Reflection 5

 

On Tuesday, 12 \ May \ 2015. I did the fifth lesson for two classes, the lesson was Literacy readiness skill and the strand was that recognize and use ee double vowels. It was the best lesson, the students liked the activities, and they wanted to spend more time to do all the activities, because I switched some activities for some groups because some groups finished early. They learnt the long vowel sound and they could read any words even the words were new.

 

I felt so happy because my lesson met the outcome and they understood my lesson and the activities made sense and they get benefit and the same time enjoyed. The students asked to teach then forever they liked my activities much. 

 

I learnt from my teacher that I have be strong to manage the students because I was very kind and they did not listen to me sometimes and did what they wanted so I will balance I meant by that I will be serious when they don’t pay attention and I will be kind when they are boring. In addition, I learnt how I could teach them science and use the real materials. It was so nice when they made the old phone and they used cups and yarn. They can learn best by using materials and the classes will be interested.
