Mathematic lesson

In this lesson, I taught mathematic lesson about compare number with three digits. I used authenitc objects to explain them the lesson. they understood the lesson very well. in the activity stage, they used number cards and phrase cards as games and the winner was who collecet more seeds. In the end, the teacher will post two cards and ask the students to choose the right phrase for numbers. it was so nice lesson and they like to use the cards.

Materials

There were different activities that has the same ideas. they played it as competition. they used seeds and who collected more seeds he was the winner . the low level used cubes to account and they understood the lesson very well.

Sunday, May 10, 2015. I did my forth lesson about math compare numbers with three digits. My college mentor observed me.  I decided to do the best what I can. I think it was very nice lesson, first of all, the students understood the lesson and the same time enjoyed with the activities. I liked the opening when I sat with the students and used the balls, I felt they like when I threw the balls and they wanted to catch them and read the numbers. It was useful and the same time engage them. I was happy because they were nice when I asked them to sit on the mat and go to their group (the transition time) they did it quietly. I noticed I was late to lower group; I was busy with the other groups. I will note that I have to balance or I have to focus to lower group more than others do, because they need more help than other needs. They were confused until I went to them and helped them. In addition, they did not give them phrase cards I just asked them to read the phrases on the board and copy them. It was better if I gave them the phrase cards and asked then to choose the right one as other groups do.

 

 

The activities were a bit difficult for some boys. However, they really understood the lesson and can compare between the numbers, because the class is ability class and most the students are strong in their study. I was very happy because the outcome met my lesson; it was the important things as for me. I planned to work in my language more and make my voice a loud because the teacher has to speak a loud. I think, it was nice when I used timer because I noticed the boys talked about that and they wanted to get many seeds and write many sentences in their books. When the timer finished I put the clean-up song they liked that, clean their places, and sat on their places then I asked them to sit on the carpet again to do the closed.  

 

I gave the better group jelly to reinforce the other students. I could manage the time that made me happy. Next time I will focus to my language more and I will help the lower group more.
