Mathematic lesson

In this lesson, I taught math about continue, create repeating patterns and find missing elements and create repeating patterns. I was excited to teach the lesson because I had variety activities that make the students very busy and the lesson went very well. I really liked the lesson and I did it again to next class.

Reflection

 

On Wednesday, November 04, 2015. I had math lesson and my college teacher observed me. I taught the students about Pattern. I prepared all my materials, I was ready but suddenly the computer stop working then I changed my planed. I taught them without computer. I had a nice online game about different types of patterns (name pattern, color pattern. Shape patterns and number patterns). In addition, I wanted to use clean up song and timer to remind the students about the time as always.

 

In the opening stage, I like what I did. I explained about the patterns and meaning of it. I gave them different examples name pattern ( Salama, Maitha, Salama, Maitha, Salama, Maitha, Salama, Maitha…) number pattern (1,5,1,5,1,5,1,5), Color pattern (blue, green, blue, green, blue, green) and shapes pattern (circle, square, circle, square). Most of them understood the pattern very well, I asked them to find any pattern in the class and they showed me some, it make me very happy.

 

I modeled the activities for them and I gave them different activities. They were very busy and liked the activities very mach. The activities engaged them much and I could manage them.

 

In the closing stage, I assessed them to be sure if they understood the lesson or not. They understood the lesson and gave me different examples about patterns.   

The negative thing that, some students didn’t lesson when I asked them to sit on the carpet, they were doing their activities and I told them I will write your name and when the computer would work I would take away your points in the dojo. Then I left them so next time I will thing about other way to make them listen to me.
