Reflection 3

Description:

 

Last week in the TP, It was a bit hard, but I was interested, the boys were noisy special after the lunch break but my school mentor could manage them very well. She used good strategies to manage the boys. For example, she used praise at the right time and her loud voice when she needed it and good words for the good listeners and behaviors in addition; she disciplined who has three warnings. It was difficult for me to manage them but I used praise to manage them and I could manage one class very well but next class I could manage some boys but not all of them.

 

Feelings:

 

I was very comfort than before. I liked to teach them especially I had something nice to show them because, they like new things and they curious to know the new things. It was nice lesson as for me. They interested when I showed them the magic math box.   

 

Evaluation:

 

 I did two lessons on Wednesday, one lesson for my college mentor, I taught my students a math lesson (addition and subtraction of fractions) I liked the lesson because it was very easy for students and I used authentic objects to make the lesson easier. They understood the lesson and they were interested in the activities that I gave them because they got the lesson. In the closing stage, I used math magic box, the students liked the stage and interacted with math magic box. I used good strategies and materials for the lesson but I had to use my loud voice sometimes because some boys were stubborn and made noise so it was good if I used it.

 The next lesson was about vocabulary, I taught them the vocabulary words three times with different activities.  In the last activity was very fun, all of the students sat and worked hard to finish first also my school mentor worked with them. It was a competition, who will fish first and find all the words in the box. It helped students to memorize the words very well.

 

Analysis:                              

 

On Thursday, most of the students went to a Zoo trip, I had a mixed group from each class, and I taught them mix lessons, math and vocabulary. I noticed they memorized the vocabulary that I taught them and it made me happy.

 

 

Conclusion:

 

I learnt many new things in the TP, special with boys who are 11 years old. It was not easy to manage them, they need someone to be strict with them and need to use a loud voice many times, it doesn't mean deal with them strictly but used seriousness when, the teacher needs and the teacher has to be very patients with the boys. They are lovely but we need to know how we deal with each one.

 

Action plan:

 

In this TP, I really got many benefits. The first one, I taught and dealt with boys in grade 5, I thought I could not teach them however, I could deal with him and managed them as well. It was a great experiment.  I think next time, I like to teach grade 5 boys and I will great nice activities that they like.
